All India Radio Shimla, invites applications for engagement of Part Time Correspondents (PTC) at Akashvani Shimla & Kinnour Districts on part time contractual retainership basis as per Revised Scheme fer engagement of PTCS (available at NBD website: www.newsonair.gov.in under PTC Guidelines section). 

Educational Qualifications: 

(a) Essential :-

 1. PG Diploma/Degree in Journalism/Mass Media or Graduate with minimum 2 years journalistic experience. 

2. Age Limit: 24-45 years. 

3. Should reside at the district Headquarters or within a radius of 10 kms. from the District Headquarters/Municipal limit in the concerned district. 

4. Knowledge of computers and word processing. 

5. Possession of news gathering devices.

 (b) Desirable: Experience of coverage for electronic media. Remuneration: Monthly remuneration will be calculated as per NSD's circular No RNU/PTC Guidelines/Modification/2022/1426, dated- 22.12.2022, subject to satisfactory rendering of service to be certified by RNU Head, Akashvani with maximum limit of Rs 9050/- per month including conveyance and communication charges. 

Engagement Procedure: 

(a) Engagement of Part-Time Correspondents (PTCs) will be on contractual retainership basis. 

(b) The persons already in Government service-Central/State Government/ Administration of the Union Territory or in any Public Service Undertaking (PSU) and member of any Political Party will not be considered for engagement as PTC.

 (c) The Selection process will involve an interview. Candidates on the basis of qualifications, professional experience, knowledge about district and state, current affairs, awareness of welfare schemes of the Central Government, acquaintance with Radio news, journalistic aptitude, writing skills, familiarization with communication technologies etc. 

(d) On initial engagement of a Part-Time Correspondent, his/ her work performance would be monitored for three months, the contract will be renewed on a monthly basis. If his/her work is found to be satisfactory during this period, he/she may be offered yearly contract till candidate attains the age of 60 years. The certificate for satisfactory performance should be issued by the RNU head. 

The date of receipt of application in prescribed profoma along with self-attested copies of required documents and one recent photograph should reach the Head of Office Akashvani (All India Radio) Chaura Maidan, Shimla-171004 on or before 26-07-2023.
