New species of frog found in Meghalaya:-New species of frog found from Siju cave in South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. Shillong, Petra: Researchers from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have found a new species of frog inside a cave in Meghalaya's South Garo Hills district. Recently its information has been published in an international journal. Officials said this is the second time a frog has been discovered from inside a cave in the country. Earlier in 2014, a species of Micrixellus spelunka was discovered from a cave in Tamil Nadu.
Researchers discovered a new species of Cascade Rainyid Frog at the very depths of the Siju cave system in South Garo Hills district.' The new species has been named Amolaps siju.
